Pear, Walnut & Cheddar Puff Pastry Tart

A delicious pear puff pastry tart topped with spicy cheddar cheese, toasted walnuts, and a drizzle of honey. This easy recipe is perfect for impressing guests at any gathering and takes just 15 minutes to prep. Serve it warm or at room temperature!

Ingredients:

  • 1 (9×13) sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 8 oz shredded spicy cheddar (e.g., Cabot Habanero cheddar)
  • 2-3 ripe Bartlett pears, sliced
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 tbsp honey
  • ΒΌ cup chopped toasted walnuts
  • Flaky sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions:

  1. Prep Puff Pastry: Preheat oven to 400Β°F (200Β°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place the thawed puff pastry on the sheet and poke with a fork.
  2. Assemble Tart: Sprinkle shredded cheese over the pastry, leaving a 1-inch border. Arrange pear slices on top.
  3. Brush & Bake: Whisk the egg and brush the edges of the pastry. Bake for 25-30 minutes, until the pastry is golden and crisp.
  4. Finish & Serve: Drizzle with honey, sprinkle with walnuts and sea salt. Cut into 9 squares and serve warm or at room temperature.

  • Fruit Swap: Use sliced apples or peaches.
  • Cheese Variation: Try sharp cheddar, fontina, gouda, gruyere, or spicy pepper jack.
  • Crunchy Toppings: Add chopped pistachios or pecans.
