Best Hamburger Patty Recipe
Ingredients
– 2 pounds ground chuck (80% lean, 20% fat)
– Β½ cup crushed saltine crackers or Panko breadcrumbs
– 1 large egg
– 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
– 2 tablespoons milk
– 1 teaspoon salt
– 1 teaspoon garlic powder
– 1 teaspoon onion powder
– Β½ teaspoon black pepper
**Instructions**
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, crushed crackers, egg, Worcestershire sauce, milk, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix with your hands until smooth but avoid overmixing to keep the burgers tender.
2. Flatten the meat mixture in the bowl into an even disk. Divide it into six 1/3-pound patties for a thicker burger or twelve thinner patties.
3. Prepare a baking sheet with wax paper or foil to hold the patties. Shape each portion into a patty, pressing slightly larger than your buns to account for shrinkage. Press a small indentation in the center of each patty to avoid puffing during cooking.
4. Preheat the grill or a skillet to medium heat (around 350-400Β°F).
5. For thick patties: Grill or fry for 3-4 minutes per side. For thin patties: Cook on the griddle for about 2 minutes per side. Try to flip only once for the juiciest burgers!
6. Stack the hot patties on hamburger buns and add your favorite toppings and condiments. Serve warm and enjoy!
